About the Role
The Software Development Manager (SDM) will lead and supervise a team of software developers, including the software quality assurance (QA) staff. Mentoring and developing the Development team through all aspects of their IT career will be an important function of this role. Providing additional training and performance reviews/feedback are critical aspects of the role. This will be a hybrid role, where the SDM will have some development responsibilities, in addition to the management/leadership responsibilities. This role will have a strong background in software development, project management, and team leadership. The SDM is crucial in ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of both internal end users (other Tria Health staff) and external end users (Tria Health patients).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Hands-on development with one or more of the following software development platforms: C#, ASP.NET, React, React-Native, Blazor, Microsoft SQL (with EF-Core), or related technologies
Develop/author coding standards, including best practice data security protection techniques, then teach and enforce those standards for the rest of the team
Closely collaborate with the Product Development and Project Management teams, as they research and document software specification needs from all end users
Ability to context-switch effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Participate, contribute, and lead some or all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) on a project-by-project basis:
Work with both technical and non-technical staff to interpret and participate in defining and validating the detailed business requirements for a project
Participate and/or lead an application design process to meet the requirements
Perform unit, integration, and system tests to ensure programs/modules perform as expected
Develop detailed and thorough documentation as required
Meet deadlines throughout the process
Bring innovation and creative skills to the company
Assist with process improvement by contributing and looking for opportunities to develop application solutions that add value by automating tasks, gathering better data, providing better customer service experiences, etc.
Serve as part of the IT leadership team, which includes the VP of IT, Directors of IT, and peer IT managers
Professionally represent the IT department as a recognized leader
Communication with stakeholders, meeting deadlines, and delivering production ready code
Commitment to the Tria Health mission statement, motto, core values, and employee handbook
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrated understanding of relational databases and database concepts (particularly Microsoft SQL Server)
Experience with DevExpress, ReactiveUI or WPF is a plus
API development experience is preferred
Basic understanding of CQRS/MediatR, dependency injection and other coding principles
Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture and micro-services preferred
Knowledge of .NET version 6 and newer
Knowledge of the latest versions of Visual Studio
Knowledge of Entity Framework and Linq to SQL
Knowledge of Redgate’s Test Data Management (TDM) solution
Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
Ability to use Azure DevOps / Git for version control
Agile/Scrum methodologies
Release Management
Knowledge of HIPAA concepts

Education/Experience
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, related field, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of experience in software development
5+ years of experience in IT management
Healthcare experience preferred

Location: Tria Health in Kansas City, MO (Crossroads area). This is not a remote job, but a hybrid schedule may be offered after a probationary period.
